| Ashley and Jamie at Aunt Viola's 95th birthday party |
They both enjoy watching movies so we watched "Annie", "The Secret Garden", a Veggie Tale one, plus Ashley watched her favourite "George" starring the curious little monkey.
They helped make ginger cookies. Grandma rolled the dough into balls and they rolled the balls in sugar. They each took a can of cookies home "for their dad's", if they last until Sunday! Jamie asked me "Do you know what we are giving your son for Father's Day?" I won't tell you, in case that son reads my blog!
They like to have tea parties so here they are having a tea party with a small pitcher of milk and baby A&W root beer mugs from Grandma's collection.

They also enjoyed playing with blocks. Here they are with their towers. That reminds me of Jamie when we went to "The Tower" restaurant in Estevan. She had heard about "The Tower" so was anxious to go there. But she was disappointed as "I thought it would be high." Towers should be, shouldn't they?

They didn't play outside a lots as the days were windy, rainy and cool. The mother cat has moved her baby kittens so they weren't happy about that.
Yesterday I took the girls to Weyburn. Laurel met me at Vivian Vinge's and we had a good visit there before she and Ashley headed home to Milestone. Vivian has a basket full of dolls and hand made doll clothes with colour coordinated dresses, pants and hats. It's good to see little girls still enjoy playing with dolls! I brought Jamie to Clare and Jodi's so she had fun with Abbey before Shauna came back from Regina and picked her up on her way back to Lampman.
I stopped at the Wholesale store to pick up some bedding plants for our yard as well as a few to plant at Salem cemetery. There is a little flower bed west of the steps that needs a few annuals to brighten up that corner. I'll put a few around the bell stand too. The cemetery has been freshly cut and trimmed so looks great for this upcoming Father's Day. In Norway, artificial flowers are not allowed in their cemeteries. I want to start a little flower bed at Howard's grave and follow their example.
This afternoon I am joining our accordion group at Hillview Manor. We'll go out for supper and then play at Creighton Lodge this evening. It's good to have this group to get together with for some times of music and fellowship. I hope to get in a visit with Aunt Viola too.
I see that this post is the 298th one on my blog. What can I come up with to celebrate the 300th one? I guess we'll have to wait and see!! Perhaps you could send me an email telling me about your favourite one, or ones. I don't get many comments on my postings but maybe it's easier to email me at hejohnson@xplornet.ca
