WEDNESDAY WORDS - New glasses!

After several years with the same glasses, it was time for a change.  This time my lenses darken when I'm out in the sunshine so they will serve as sunglasses as well.  I'm near sighted so don't need glasses to read or to do hardanger but do need them for distance, as in driving or to distinguish people in a crowd. I picked up my new ones yesterday on my way to visit Howard.  Typically, he noticed right away that I had new glasses.  He has always been very observant, unlike me who couldn't tell you who even wears glasses let alone who has new ones or what colour their eyes are.  If you want to know those things, ask Howard!  His glasses went missing at St. Joe's, as did an older pair that he had.  When I was at the farm on Tuesday, I found a third pair that had one lens missing.  I took them to South East Eye Care yesterday and they'll be ready with new lenses today.  Maybe I'll get a staff member to take a picture of us with our new specs.

It's been a busy start to this first week of Easter.  On Monday I had guests for supper.  Kirk's came in to visit Grandpa as did Laurel, Dawson, Eric and Ashley.  After supper, Dawson and Eric went to Lampman with Kirk, Shauna, Carter and Lindsay while Jamie stayed with Ashley, Laurel and Grandma.  It was a great arrangement with the cousins having lots of fun together during this Easter break.

Off to Lampman for a fun time together

On Monday evening, Laurel, Ashley, Jamie and I went to the concert by the choir from LCBI, Outlook. All four of our children graduated from that school so we have close ties there.  The program had a great mix of songs from Mozart, Beethoven, Tommy Dorsey to a selection by the girls from "Sister Act". Jamie and Ashley especially enjoyed "Jonah and the Whale" with a change from choir gowns to rubber boots and rain gear.

After the evening concert we took four of the girls home with us for the night - Emma Berg, Hillary Kemp, Jaclyn Morken and Elise Leslie.  They enjoyed watching part of "Chip Wrecked"with Jamie and Ashley.  I knew that Susie and Ray would have taken billets had they been here, so it was fun to have a house full of girls.  After breakfast the choir members were back at Trinity by nine so they could go for a swim at the Leisure Centre before heading off to Weyburn for their concert that evening.

When we got back to the house, Jamie and Ashley had fun blowing bubbles on the deck, even if the temperature was minus three!  Then we were busy packing up some of the stuff I'd brought with me to the city.  After lunch we made a quick trip to the farm to unload.  The girls were happy to see the cats and pleased that they could pet them too!  The tulips planted along the sidewalk have sent up green leaves so the red tulip blossoms shouldn't be far behind.

"I did it"

We visited Grandpa at St. Joe's and made a trip to the cafeteria.  The girls were happy to get free cookies that were leftover from a gathering in the auditorium.   The next morning we made a trip to the gift shop at St. Joe's.  Jamie picked out "Eleanor, (one of the Chipmunks), and Ashley found a cute little bunny named "Bobsy" so those were their treats from Grandma.

Laurel was a big help in packing up my stuff and doing some cleaning in preparation for my move back to the farm.  We brought all the cardboard boxes, tin cans, milk jugs and newspapers to the recycle bins and filled the water jugs at the Co-op so the house is soon "Moser ready".  It has been such a blessing to have this beautiful home to live in this winter.  Our family has enjoyed it too as it has been a central place to gather when they come to visit Grandpa and Grandma.

My Wednesday blog is a day late (again!) and now it's time to get ready to head for St. Joe's for the weekly church service at 11:00.  I'll pick up Howard's glasses on the way.  This afternoon I'm going to Trinity Tower for a lesson in "block making" from quilter Judy.  They are having a display and sale of Alia clothing there today so I just may do some shopping too.  Have a good rest of the week.
