When we were shopping for groceries at the Co-op, we came across this Sidney Crosby display. I remembered the camera in my purse and got a cute shot of Abbey and "Sidney". (I also bought a loaf of Dempster bread as my supply of home made bread is getting low.)
We picked KFC to take home to the harvesters so not much home cooking on this day.
In the evening Abbey was listening to music on her new ipod when I recognized the Canadian Tenors singing "Hallelujah". So we ended the evening by watching our DVD of the Canadian Tenors concert recorded live in Toronto for PBS. Our favorite tenor is Fraser Walters, maybe because he reminds us of Todd. If you aren't familiar with this group, check out www.canadiantenors.com. We heard them in Estevan as part of the concert series before they became famous. They didn't even have a CD out then but I paid for one at the concert and got it a few months later. The rest, as they say, is history. They sang this fall in Moose Jaw, $100 a ticket! I'm impressed that nine year old Abbey is a fan of the Tenors!
Enough rambling, time to do some Saturday jobs.
I really enjoyed reading these updates. My mom had polio like your mother. She still has week legs. Sometimes I call her "polio legs". I hope you are enjoying the sunshine! ... and Howard's snoopy pj's.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Holly. I didn't realize that your mom had polio too. They say that some people have post polio problems much later in life so it's something that never "goes away". It's good that your mom didn't lose the use of her legs. My mother was always so thankful that it didn't affect her arms. She did more in her wheel chair than many able bodied mothers do!
