So, how do I feel about turning 68? Aside from the fact that I'm ever closer to that OLD age of 70, I'm fine with it. I remember the big party that my Grandpa Erickson had on his 70th birthday. He was an OLD man! Or so I thought at the age of nine. My perspective on that is changing. Actually, Grandpa wasn't as old as he thought he was. When he got his birth certificate to apply for Old Age Pension, he found out he was just 69, not 70 at all! (No, he didn't get another big party when he actually did turn 70!)
Actually, I have learned that each year, in fact each day, is a gift from God. My mother didn't live two months past her 65th birthday so I am very thankful for each day that I am given. I have soon outlived her by three years.
I have a lot of projects that I would like to do. Today I tackled one of them. Sometimes the hardest part is to get started so today I washed up two loads of Todd's tee shirts, the ones I'm saving to make a quilt for him. I have decided to make it NOW and have it ready for his 33rd birthday on April 15. I will need 35 blocks each 12" square. I have enough shirts as I can use the backs of some of them if need be. It's a good feeling to have a start on this project. Now I need some advice on how to back the shirts so they don't stretch out of shape when sewing them together.
Time to tidy up my house! Laurel, Greg, Dawson, Eric and Ashley are coming tomorrow, will go to Minot on Saturday. We get to keep Ashley! Fun! Fun!
