IN THE BIN!

Yes, harvest came to an end on Monday evening!  On Tuesday morning the phone rang at twenty after nine, and woke us both!  I don't remember ever sleeping in that long!  I guess we both needed it.  Alan helped out a lot hauling grain on some very warm days. He said he worked longer days now than before he retired!  He wasn't really complaining as he enjoys being on the farm and helping out with whatever he can.  Now he is able to watch all the Blue Jay games again!

Today we made two trips to the land east of here to help Clare move the outfits home.  We got it done just as it started to rain so that was timely.

Kirk and Carter were here on Saturday so that helped a lot as they each drove a combine, Clare and Alan hauled grain.  Gerry was off that day, had a funeral to attend that morning.  In the afternoon the doorbell rang.  There was Gerry and his two granddaughters delivering milkshakes to the harvest crew!  That was a treat for all of us.  Thanks a bunch, Gerry!

The birthday girls had their day on the 7th.  Nora had a party for her little friends and their families at the school on Sunday the 6th. They played her favourite games like Duck, Duck Goose and Red Light, Green Light. She had a Hello Kitty theme.  Here are a few pictures from the party and at home.

Here is our other granddaughter who also celebrated her birthday on Sept. 7- Abbey turned 14!  We had cupcakes with her that afternoon.  Two of her friends took her to Boston Pizza for a birthday supper while Alan and I took Jodi and Clare to Joey's Only.  We all had a good time and a good supper!

Ardis also had a birthday that day but I don't have any pictures to show you.  It was Labour Day but she ended up doing some tutoring that day. She enjoyed a birthday supper with Kris, Stacy, Sam and Ava the day before.

Last Sunday Alan and I attended a joint birthday party for Verna Daae, who turns 80 this week and for her husband, Ray who was 85 last month.  How special for them to celebrate these special birthdays together.

Well, I'm late with this blog post so better get it published before it's even later.
