Our brother-in-law, Merle Sanford, was planning to be at the Erickson reunion on his birthday last Friday but things didn't go very good for him that day. He went to get some bones for the dog from the deep freeze in the basement of his dad's old house. However, instead of the bones, he found a foot of water in the basement and a deep freeze full of spoiled food. So you know how he spent the rest of that day, while his family enjoyed another great day at Cypress Park. Life isn't always fair, is it Merle? He was able to join us on Sunday. Did you get in on the slip and slide fun? We hope you don't have to spend your next birthday in the basement!
He missed the group pictures that were taken on Saturday as well. I had hoped that we could get a picture of us four Erickson couples. As of a year ago, all four couples have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversaries. The picture wouldn't have happened even if Merle had been there, as Howard was not able to be at the reunion either. The group that had perfect attendance was the one with the red shirts, all 26 of Mom and Dad's great grandchildren. They got along amazingly well. It helped that most of our activities were outdoors with lots of space!
Here are some pictures that Laurel took of those special days.
