(the first Grandma had heard of him!)

Jamie has had Mom and Dad all to herself for two days!  She stayed home to get ready for her birthday party while Carter and Lindsay came to the farm.  Dawson, Eric and Ashley were here too, as Greg and Laurel went to Saskatoon to a wedding on Saturday.  Grandma couldn't fit five kids in the Escape so it's a good thing we still have the Mercury!  We are heading to Lampman this afternoon for Lindsay's party. This morning Lindsay and Ashley helped make ginger cookies while the three boys were still sleeping.   (No getting up at six-thirty today!)

Jamie shares her birthday with her Auntie Lauretta, Shauna's sister so Happy Birthday to Lauretta too!

Now we move on to Bjorn Karl Markentin, who was born at 3:27 a.m. on July 31, 2001 in Saskatoon.
He weighed 7 lb.12 oz. and was 21 1/2 " long.  Here's a picture of baby Bjorn and then some later ones.

Today our great-nephew, Bjorn Markentin, turns ten.  It was fun to see Bjorn and all the rest of the Erickson family at our Cypress Reunion.  We thought that Bjorn might miss the reunion as he was in a diving competition in Montreal.  But that was before the reunion so he didn't have to miss out.  He did very well  in diving, competed in the eleven and under catagory.  I hope we can watch you dive sometime, Bjorn.

At the reunion, Heather had a fun scavenger hunt.  Instead of finding things to collect, there were clues about people in the family.  The clue about Bjorn was "this name means bear".  We hope you are having a fun birthday today.

The five grandkids are anxious to head for Lampman so we'll have early lunch of leftover pizza and be on our way.  Jamie Johnson, here we come!
