Happy Birthday M & M!

I mentioned in my last blog that I had missed a birthday girl so I'll backtrack and wish Michelle (Miller) Erickson a belated Happy Birthday for Saturday, April 2.    Michelle officially joined our family on November 1, 1997 when she and Devan Milford Erickson were married at Bethel Lutheran Church, Frontier. It was the fourth Erickson cousin wedding of the year.  We didn't need to plan Erickson reunions back then as there was at least one wedding a year for six years starting in 1995 and then two more after that.

I wish Michelle was close by this week as I would love to have her do my nails.  She started that business when they lived in Redcliff and is now working at a shop in Shaunavon.  She also has a part time job at the Shaunavon Credit Union.  Hockey for Reese and Paige plus snowboarding for Draven kept her and Devan busy this past winter.  They have also made several trips back to Medicine Hat for appointments and visits with the many good friends that they made there.  They moved to Shaunavon last fall and are adjusting well to living in a new community.  A bonus is to have family close by in Frontier as well as in Shaunavon.

Marion (Corcoran) Sanford is celebrating her birthday today. She and Jason were married in Swift Current on November 8, 2008.  Marion finally got off the farm and to Swift Current after being blocked in too often this winter.  She was almost ready to move back to the city!  We are glad that you got out this week so you could have a Happy Birthday, Marion.

Marion is a busy mom with Katie, who is 15 months and Blaine, who will be three in June.  Some of you may have seen the Facebook picture of Katie helping herself to ice cream from their fridge with the freezer on the bottom.  Kids must love those!  Marion is very involved in community activities in Claydon and Frontier so is fitting in well with country living, (except for these long, snow filled winters!)
We were so glad that Marion, Jason, Blaine and Katie could help us celebrate Howard's 75th birthday last August.

Three Norsk boys, Eric, Carter and Dawson
My birthday blogs are short today, with no pictures (except for the above one!).  We are busy getting ready for Kristy and Todd's arrival from Norway.  They have spent four nights in Philadelphia and will be landing in Regina late this evening.  We are planning to go up tomorrow and take in the Norway vs Canada game at the Mens World Curling.  Canada has won all eight of their games, has three to go before playoffs begin.  Norway still has a chance to make the playoffs but I think they will have to win all the rest of their round robin games.  Laurel said that Dawson and Eric will be wearing their Norwegian sweaters that Todd and Kristy gave them so looks like they will be cheering for the Norsk team!  Ashley will be staying with Grandma Gaylene.

We have busy days ahead with our Ladies Night Out scheduled for Friday night.  I'll have lots to blog about next week!  We are hoping to get to Jamie and Lindsay's dance recital on Saturday and are planning family pictures in Milestone on Sunday.  See you next week.
