Happy Anniversary, Kirk and Shauna, Greg and Laurel

My blogging time has been cut short the past week so I'm doing another "two in one" for two special couples in our family.

Kirk and Shauna's wedding at Salem Lutheran, April 8, 2000
It was eleven years on April 8 since Kirk and Shauna (Fornwald) were married at Salem Lutheran Church, just two miles north of our farm.  Yesterday the road was closed between here and Salem due to washouts. It would have been pretty chilly at Salem this year on the eighth.  The yard was bare that day in 2000 but the next day there was snow.  Kirk and Shauna barely made it out of Lampman to catch the plane to Edmonton for their honeymoon.

Their new home, well not really.  This house was demolished to make room for their new one.

Their new house coming in from Virden, Manitoba.
A lot has happened in those eleven years and here we have another picture of Kirk and Shauna taken at Salem Lutheran Church.

We know you have had a very special anniversary week with last Wednesday spent at the Ford Men's World Curling in Regina.  Today you were off to Minot to pick up a different vehicle.

I'll have to do Laurel and Greg's tomorrow as it's bedtime already!

Well, I'm back and will finish up this anniversary blog this morning.

Greg and Laurel were married on April 12, 1997 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Regina after a six week engagement!  Howard and I were on a train trip and were at Aunt Marie's in Coos Bay, Oregon when we learned of their engagement.  By the time we arrived back home, she had found her wedding dress and plans were underway.  The first dress that she tried on was the one she chose, a perfect fit with no altering to be done.  It was beautiful, as was the bride.  Here they are on their wedding day.

They lived at Laurel's Regina apartment for a short time, then moved to a mobile home just north-east of the Diekrager farm.  They now reside at the farm where Greg was raised and Greg's mom lives in the mobile home.  Here's a picture of the farm where Danny and Gaylene raised their family and where Greg and Laurel now live with their three children.

Here's a picture of Greg and Laurel taken last summer at Salem Lutheran Church.  They are now a family of five.  The highlight of their anniversary week was attending the Canada/Norway curling game in Regina, along with Dawson and Eric and other members of the Johnson family.  Greg was celebrating with the Norwegians that evening as Norway won this last round robin game.  I still plan to do a curling day blog so watch for pictures of that fun time.

Here's to many more happy anniversaries for these two special couples!
