Despite playing in minus 25 degree C windchill, the Riders did it again, came from being down 11 - 0 to pull off a win against Calgary to advance to the Grey Cup next weekend in Edmonton. I admire the fans who braved the COLD to cheer on their team. Edmonton is forecasting warmer temperatures next weekend, plus one by Saturday, so next Sunday should be a big improvement over today! Go Riders!
Not much new since Friday. We spent a quiet weekend and watched more TV than we usually do. PBS station KCTS from Seattle is one of our favourites. On Saturday they had a three hour Lawrence Welk special, Milestones and Memories. It was followed by a two hour special, Great Performances: Andrea Bocelli and David Foster: My Christmas. It seemed a bit early for a Christmas special but next Sunday is the first Sunday in Advent. We taped that show so can watch it during the Christmas season.
This afternoon we watched THE GAME from Calgary, then enjoyed Rick Steves' Best of Scandinavia. That brought back lots of memories as he visited places in Oslo and Bergen that we had also visited. We have never been there in the summer so that will have to be our next visit!
That won't happen next year as Kristy and Todd will be back in Canada for another Ledene wedding. Danielle and Danny Thomas are engaged as of yesterday! We are excited for them.
On November 24th Sandra and Merle will have been married for forty years! That means that all four of us Erickson "kids" will have reached that milestone. Watch for my next blog on Wednesday.
Eric had an exciting hockey game in Lumsden on Saturday. They were playing game three of a tournament, had lost one, won one. The score was tied at six, Eric got a break away and scored the winning goal! Congratulations, Eric. Dawson played in a Milestone tournament, also got a breakaway but the goalie managed to stop the puck so Dawson was "robbed"and their team lost. Such is the life of a hockey player, win some lose some. Most of all, I hope they have fun!
It won't take you long to read today's blog, no pictures even. Just wanted to update you a bit and keep up with my Sunday blogging. Have a great week!
Oh, mustn't forget to wish friends and family in the US a Happy Thanksgiving on Thursday and a Happy Birthday to our niece, Tanya, who celebrates that day too. This might be another busy blogging week!
