Our congregation made the switch to an 8:30 am service this morning and we like it, at least we did this morning! That allowed us to hit the road shortly after 9:30 on our way to visit the Diekragers at Milestone. We were at their farm about the time our 11:15 service would have been starting. We enjoyed dinner with them, especially the sweet corn on the cob freshly picked from Frank Kime's garden. Eric loves Grandma's pumpkin pie, had two pieces and plans to take a piece in his school lunch tomorrow! Dawson preferred the fresh buns! Ashley was happy to have Grandpa read to her. We can't say that we watched much of the Rider game. What can you say about a 31-2 loss against Winnipeg??
Ashley likes to ride her trike down the sloping sidewalk east of the garage. When she gets to the end of the sidewalk, she picks up her trike and carries it back to the garage so she can ride down again!
Dawson and Eric spend a lot of time "farming" in the basement, as you can see by the picture. The glass jars are their grain bins. Dawson made a grain terminal using cardboard boxes.
Eric had to show us that he is allowed to drive the quad now. He made sure he had his helmet and gloves on first.

We stopped in Weyburn for a quick visit with Jodi and Abbey so got to see four of our seven grandchildren on Grandparents Day. The other three spent last weekend with us so we have had two Grandparent weekends. We are blessed to have them all so close to us.
We got home in time to make supper for Clare and Carl. The corn on the cob that Laurel sent with us made easy work of supper with a few leftovers added from the fridge and pumpkin pie for dessert. Clare was able to do some swathing and Greg was thrilled to be back on the combine this afternoon.
Tomorrow is our regular day for Faith circle to meet but three of our group couldn't make it tomorrow so it will have to be later this month. Maybe I should spend another Monday in the basement mending and sorting through the piles of "stuff " that seem to accumulate down there. I'll let you know how I make out! Have a good week.
