AFTER THE STORM

Pheasants just south of the living-room window
The storm ended on Tuesday night but we were  blocked in until that Friday.  I called the RM to send their tractor and snowblower out this way but that hadn't happened yet so we are still house bound or yard bound.  I did go out for a walk yesterday so took a few pictures. (Clare came out and pushed snow with the tractor and dozer blade and the RM outfit finished up our driveway to the garage.

Taken out the kitchen window of the snowbanks

Gas tanks are getting visible!

This past Sunday we made it to church but didn't quite make it back to the yard - got stuck in drifts just west of our trees!  Clare came to the rescue again and pulled us out with the tractor.  We are ready for spring!  It was above zero on Wednesday so that was a treat again.  I should make it to Torquay Library on Thursday so I can read the play school class another Dr. Seuss book.

We had a good day of quilting on Tuesday and must be soon at the 100 mark.  There were eight of us so two were putting the three layers together, one was pinning the edges to make a binding, one was zig zagging around the border and four were tying.  The highlight is our potluck lunch at noon!  We also had special visitors - Patti and Brian Marcotte dropped by for a quick visit.  They have been staying with the grandkids at Jeff's while he and Stacey were in Mexico for a check-up.  It was a good one and we were so thankful to hear that news! "Praise God, from whom all blessings flow".

On Tuesday Alan and I celebrated our 25th anniversary, months that is!!  When we started in our 70's we thought we better count months instead of years so we celebrate each month and he usually gets his favourite Flapper Pie for dessert that evening.

Today, Wednesday, Alan and I went to Weyburn.  He had a Dr. appointment to renew prescriptions and the Ruby had an appointment to get the oil changed and tires rotated, along with a much needed wash!  I had some time to browse around so picked up a blouse and some pants for spring at Expressions.

We plan to be back in Weyburn on Saturday to take in some of Abbey's curling in the 18 and under spiel.  Good luck Abbey and team!  Have a great rest of the week!
