Yes, it's Monday and I didn't get a new post out on Sunday or this morning! So I better keep part of that promise on my last post and at least get a new post out while it's still Monday.
We are enjoying rather mild temperatures, right around the zero mark. That might sound good, but when accompanied by freezing rain and snow showers it makes for icy road conditions. My driveway looked very slippery this morning and now there's fresh snow on top so I didn't venture out for a walk today. I always take my cell phone when I got out and I was reminded why it's a good idea the other day. I went out to feed the two cats, tripped over the power cord to the cat house and down I went. The only damage was muddy mitts, jacket and runners so I was thankful not to have any injuries or broken bones.
Grandson Carter wasn't so lucky in a fall after a check in Saturday's hockey game in Milestone. He has a half cast on his ankle with tendon damage and a possible fracture. The x-rays are being sent to a radiologist in Regina so they will know on Thursday if he needs a full cast. His hockey season has ended sooner than he'd like and he's hoping he won't be wearing a cast on their upcoming trip to Palm Springs and Disneyland during the school break that starts on Feb. 14. The kids were glad that Grandma wasn't at the game. "She'd have had a heart attack" was one comment.
I finally got back at some sewing today and finished a quilt top for tomorrow's quilting day at Trinity. I'd like to make one every week so maybe if I write that goal down I'll be motivated to do it. I'm not short of material and there's an endless supply at the church!
Laurel was glad to have last week over with as it was their turn to work at the booth at the rink. Sunday was Minor Hockey Day and all the Milestone teams had home games. It concluded with a roast beef supper for 260 people served by the hockey parents.
Abbey's team had a great day of curling in Estevan on Saturday in a Junior Bonspiel. They came out the winners so congratulations girls!
I finally got my Christmas things packed away. The hardest things to put away were the eight stockings hanging in the living-room. It was wonderful to have all eight grandchildren here, but the time together always goes by too quickly.
On Sunday at Trinity we welcomed back Pastor Joshua Lowe and his family back after their two months spent in Washington attending two family weddings as well as Christmas gatherings. I'm sure they were thrilled with the fantastic comeback and win for the Seattle Seahawks in Sunday afternoon's game! Kirk was happy to see the Patriots win their game so those two teams will take part in the Super Bowl on February 1 in Arizona.
Take it easy on these icy roads! I hope to be back this weekend with another post. Have a good week.
