Our Johnson family has had four birthdays in three days so I'll cover them all in today's post.
September 7 is a three in one day. Howard's sister Ardis shares her birthday with two great-nieces, Abbey and Nora. Abbey had her party here at the farm the week-end before her birthday. I'll share a few new pictures from that day.

On her actual birthday on Sunday Todd and Kristy hosted a party for twenty friends for this new two year old at the school gym and classroom. They played her favourite games - hot potato, duck duck goose, ring around the rosey and also had a fish pond. Lunch was slushburgers, cake and ice cream. Many Norsk children (and adults) have been introduced to Slushburgers by Todd at parties in various parts of Norway!
Last year Todd and Kristy put together a video on youtube with highlights of Nora's first year. They followed that up with her second year. Here's a link where you can watch it, but not on an iPad or iPhone.
Today, Sept. 9 is Shauna's birthday. Kirk sent me a picture of her and Jamie waiting for the birthday supper in Estevan.
Lindsay had band orientation tonight so missed out on the birthday supper. (Maybe Carter did too, or else he just missed out on the picture!) I hope to watch her run on Thursday in Estevan as she excels in this sport. Good luck in your run, Lindsay.
I don't have a picture of the oldest birthday girl, Ardis. She celebrated in her new apartment with Kris, Stacy, Sam and Ava joining her for supper. She is just four blocks away from them so they can walk back and forth now, instead of a ten minute drive between them. Ardis takes the kids to school and picks them up after so there are no before and after school fees for child care that Kris and Stacy were paying before. It was a good move for both.
Harvest came to a standstill on Monday evening when it started raining. Clare says they are 20% done, were working on the mustard when the rain hit. No, they weren't too old to cut the mustard but the mustard was too tough! Warmer weather is forecast for next weekend, after the possibility of frost for a couple nights this week. I covered my tomato plants tonight!
Have a good rest of the week. I am planning to make some flatbread tomorrow so we'll see how that goes. I'm down to just a few pieces left. Laurel suggested that I make a batch for myself before my surgery and that was a good idea!
