Well we got out of the yard today after Alan moved quite a bit of snow yesterday in order to get the Escape out of the garage. We went uptown this morning for library with the playschool, then headed for Estevan.
We both had dental appointments on Tuesday but we had to cancel those because of the blizzard. There was one opening for this morning so Alan took that. I went in with him as it was too icy to walk over to 4th St. and do some shopping. I had taken a tumble last Thursday when walking the one block home after Lindsay's play practice at the Legion so I am extra careful around ice after that. No bones broken, just bruises on my hip and below the left knee.
It's a good thing I went along with him as they had a cancellation this morning and I was able to get in also for a cleaning and checkup. We both have appointments on Jan. 10 for some fillings.
Kristy, Nora and Elly Clara made it to Regina from Brooks, AB by 4:00 this afternoon. They had a joyful reunion with Papa Todd as they hadn't seen each other for over a month! I will Facetime them tomorrow. They plan to spend a few days at the Delta before they head down this way.
So that's my update for today. Days are busy with preparations for our early Christmas on Dec. 17. So exciting to have all 19 of us together!

There's not much colour in the above pictures, all black and white with shades of gray. That's the kind of day it is.
Clare is here loading a semi with lentils so I guess the roads aren't too bad yet.
Last night I took pictures out the living-room window too, this time of the oil derricks on the home quarter. The one is just west of Tenold School trees. The plans for drilling changed so the trees are saved. The other is a service rig finishing up on the well at the west side of SE 16 1 12 W of 2nd. It's just to the right of the yard light in the middle of the picture.
It's soon five o'clock and we have storm stayed visitors, Clare and the truck driver, Jason from Medicine Hat didn't make it out of the yard this morning so they will be here for the night at least. They tried heading out in Clare's pickup but got as far as Hartley's yard and turned around. Smart move as Crosby's forecast now has blizzard warnings. The wind has picked up and with all the new snow, visiblility as well as roads are not good.
Todd arrived in Regina early this morning and spent the night in a hotel. He took the bus to Weyburn and is now at Clare and Jodi's where he will spend the night. It was Clare's turn to host a Monday night football gathering at his house but he will have to watch the game at the farm instead! Kirk, Clare and Todd were planning a trip to Winnipeg tomorrow to take in a Jets hockey game but I think that will not happen either.
Here's a picture of Kristy and the girls who are spending time visiting Mormor and Farmor Ledene in Brooks, as well as Kristy's three sisters and families in Alberta. We look forward to celebrating an early Christmas here at the farm on Dec. 17, weather permitting!
