This week just flew by! Visitors were the highlight. Our Saturday visitors enjoyed posing on our 1927 JD D after taking in the threshing days at Crosby.
Hartley and Louise brought David Coward over one evening. He has changed his last name to Howard, a great choice we think! David worked for us in the early 80's. A big project that he helped with was the tearing down of our old house. He has spent time in Mexico, Central America and Africa. I told him he should write a book about all his adventures as he has lots of fascinating stories to relate.
A former neighbour, Ralph Holtkamp, also dropped in this week for a quick visit. He spent many years in Germany, is now retired and is living in Regina with son Steven and his wife.
On Friday Carter, Lindsay and Jamie came to spend the weekend along with Jodi, Clare and Abbey. The kids had lots of fun playing with the four kittens, especially Tiger Tiger who Abbey claims as hers. They also enjoyed playing dressup as you can see below. On Saturday Clare and Jodi took Abbey, Carter and Lindsay to watch the Threshing Days parade in Crosby. Clare and Carter met up with Quienten Domes and his two boys from Weyburn. The guys stayed to take in events at the grounds while Jodi and the girls went shopping and swimming. They all made it back before our border closed at 4. Howard, Jamie and I made a quick trip to Estevan to pick up a new table for the patio and some groceries. This table has a top made of ceramic tiles so should last longer than the glass top did!!
Clare and Quienten put the new table together and we enjoyed a BBQ supper out on the deck. Later they were busy figuring out a problem with our water system, with help via Bob Cranna on his cell phone from Canora! Thanks for your help, guys. Ethan and Carter biked up to Salem church so got lots of exercise. Ginger cookies helped reenergize them. Jamie helped Grandma make those in the morning. She did the rolling in sugar part, along with sampling some "baby ones" before they were baked.

Kirk and Shauna came back around two this afternoon and are now camping at Hidden Valley in Estevan. Carter has hockey camp this week so it's handy to be right there.
Laurel and Greg, Dawson, Eric and Ashley are camping in Avonlea this weekend as part of a Diekrager reunion. The boys were excited about sleeping in the tent with cousins Lee and Mark Frietag.
Howard hasn't had a good week, is quite confused at times. I'm going to phone the Dr. tomorrow as I think the new medication he is on is doing more harm than good.
I'm looking forward to finishing the wedding wallhanging for Jolene and Gib this week. It's been fun to get back at doing some hardanger again so I'll have to find a new project after this one is done.
On Friday Todd and Kristy arrive in Canada!! Todd will be flying on from Calgary to Regina to visit his siblings, nieces and nephews while Kristy is in Brooks getting things ready for her sister Jolene's wedding on July 31. We are looking forward to going out to Brooks with Todd on July 29th.
Have a great week.
