Unpacking is finished!

It's a sunny day in SE Saskatchewan and the forecast is great for the next few days. We really appreciate the sunshine after the frequent cloudy, rainy weather in the coastal city of Kristiansund. We might be wishing for some of that rain later this spring!

I finished unpacking this morning so that's a good feeling to have all the suitcases put away. I washed up clothes before we left Krisitiansund so we are okay for awhile. We are waiting for a new washing machine as our faithful Maytag for 16 years washed its last load before we left for Norway.

We have another reason to be thankful after hearing of all the flight cancellations in Europe because of the volcanic ash from Iceland. Two days later and it could have been us stranded at the airport in Oslo.

We talked to Todd on his birthday. Last night he made a chocolate cake and iced it. He was taking it to work today to celebrate his birthday with his co-workers at Swire. That was a first for him in the baking department! It wasn't a mix either but a favorite recipe of Kristy's so I'm sure it was delicious. (I just talked to Todd and the cake was a big hit at work, especially when he served it with ice cream. The secretary wanted the recipe and there was only one piece left so he might have to do that again, birthday or not! Maybe I should get the recipe too.)

Clare is coming out today and Carl will be here too so I better make some dinner plans. I've been away from cooking for awhile so have to get back in the groove for spring's work. I did do a few meals at Todd and Kristy's and we went shopping for groceries on our own as well.

The flatbread is made for the convention tomorrow. We are hoping for a good turnout for this 25th annual Weyburn Conference ELW convention.
